A Rose Blooms

A rose blooms in an immaculately trimmed yard.
A rose blooms in the yard of an abandoned house.
A rose blooms in the wild on the side of the road.
A rose blooms when trained on a trellis.
The rose blooms not for another.
The rose blooms because it is a rose.
It shows its beauty through rusted chain link;
Just the same as freshly painted white picket.
A rose blooms alone in an empty lot;
Just the same as in a green, luscious yard.
It blooms because it cannot help but do so;
It is a rose and, therefore, it blooms.
