A Poem

November:
Leaves of trees
Have changed and fallen,
But
Roses still bloom
And butterflies flutter.
The seasons are confused.

A single brown autumn leaf falls
From towering oak
Blown from its limb
By gusting winds.
The single leaf
Lands,
Balances perfectly,
Momentarily
On top of
Blooming pink rose.
The rose had
Only moments before
Hosted a monarch butterfly…
